Hotel Tips

Upon check-in, slip the desk agent a tip and ask for the best room they can find at your current booked rate. Often times a quick $10 or $20 bill can go a long way towards the mood of the person who directly decides where you lay your head for the night.

Always announce during booking if the trip is for a special event, anniversary or reunion. Group rates can be pre-negotiated and you may qualify for a lower cost and better upgrades for your stay. If you are the one setting up the event, always work directly with the front desk manager to make sure the best service is offered to your party.

Bring an actual credit card to avoid deposits and pre-authorizations consuming money in your checking account which will reduce your available balance. Hotels that accept paper cash often ask for a hefty deposit to cover potential damages in your room leaving you scrambling to find an ATM.

Things To Do

Seaside visitors are always welcome and you will receive exceptional service from local merchant-owners as opposed to staff at the big box retailers. We take the extra time to make sure that you how to make best use of your purchase and that you get exactly what you need.

Seaside has a great collection of barber shops to choose from if you want to take a little off the top, get a clean shave or to trim your moustache or beard. Take a moment to consider buying some styling gel, beard oil or wax and always tip well.

Seaside has the perfect game shop for both young and old. Your friends and family will enjoy hours of entertainment with a wide selection of board games, card games and games of skill. A perfect stop for travellers with kids and those seeking a new adventure for game night.

Why Do You Love Downtown?

Crystal Stewart

I grew up,visiting Emelton.

Liisa Shunn

We love going downtown, because we like to support our local economy. The shops and restaurants we visit -- we have gotten to know the owners, so when our money is spent downtown, we know who benefits. Also? We live only a mile from downtown, so we walk or ride our bikes. No worries about a designated driver or looking for parking. We chose to live in Medford, so of course we want our money to stay in Medford, not going off to some corporate office of a chain store.

DIANA MUEHLHAUSEN

Whenever we travel north, we stop for a couple extra days of shopping and relaxing in Ashland Oregon. Quaint, pretty, relaxing Ashland.

Dawnmarie Hatfield

We love supporting local businesses wherever we visit.

Mary Loar

There are so many cute stores in Silverton. We are going on Thursday to shop and dine.
